Vacuum Distillation Furnace (VDF, VDU)

Vacuum distillation furnace supplied by Metalcess in China can effectively separate Tin from Lead-Tin alloy, Lead,Tin and Antimony alloy, creating good economic and social benefits for Tin smelting enterprises. The capacity is from 3ton/day to 30ton/day for single set of VDF. Now it is widely used for 99%-99.95% purity Tin ingot production from Harris dross of Lead battery recycling plant. Metalcess is a new high-tech enterprise in China and provide customized Lead vacuum distillation furnace with high quality and excellent equipment cost.

General Introduction

Vacuum distillation furnace (VDF) is a clean and high efficiency metallurgical furnace for the separation and refining by taking advatages of the different vapour pressure of different metals. It's capacity is from 3ton/day to 30ton/day per set.

It's application includes:

  • Lead and antimony removal from soldering Tin, which is from secondary battary recycling plant. Through 1-3times of distillation, 99%-99.5% Tin ingot can be produced.

  • Precious lead alloy obtained by reduction and smelting of lead anode slime

  • Bismuth alloy containing precious metals

  • Selenium slag

Working Principle of Vacuum Distillation Furnace

Vacuum distillation furnace is a device that separates different metals by taking advantage of their different boiling points. It is commonly used for the separation of Lead-Tin alloys.

In vacuum environment, the Lead, Bismuth, and Antimony in the alloy are evaporated into vapor by heating, and then the vapor is cooled and collected at outside shell of distillation disk, Tin flows down the distillation plate, the two metals are separated, and collected from two independent collection tubes.

The boiling point difference between different metals is the key to the separation achieved by the vacuum furnace. In actual applications, the appropriate melting temperature and vacuum degree need to be selected according to the composition and properties of the input alloy, in order to ensure the separation effect and metal purity.

Advantages of Vacuum Distillation Furnace

Compared with other technologies at home and abroad, vacuum distillation technology has the following advantages:

(1) No chemical reagents are added during the vacuum distillation process, and no waste gas or waste liquid is produced, making it environmentally friendly.

(2) The separation process of Tin alloys is carried out under vacuum conditions, without any chemical reactions, so the materials will not be oxidized and no pollutants will be generated.

(3) The process flow is short and the equipment operation is simple.

(4) The equipment has a large processing capacity. The newly developed continuous vacuum distillation furnace can process 15-20 tons of crude tin alloys per day.

Application in Tin and Lead Separation

The new vacuum distillation technology can effectively handle Tin & Lead alloy, Tin, lead & antimony alloy, Tin-lead-antimony-arsenic and crude Tin alloys, creating good economic and social benefits for tin smelting enterprises.

Varies on the composition of impurities in the raw materials, the purity of the final tin product can reach 99% or even higher through 1 to 3 stages of vacuum distillation in the vacuum distillation furnace.

Metalcess can design the tailor-made optimal Tin refining and Tin, lead, and antimony separation technological process for customers based on their production capacity, contents of impurities in the raw materials, and the requirements for the final product, by combining vacuum distillation furnaces and other refining equipment, and fabricate high-quality equipment with high automation level. Our furnace can process input capacities ranging from 10 tons to 20 tons per day.
