Solvent Extraction (SX) is one of the core technologies in modern hydrometallurgy, mainly used for the separation, purification and enrichment of metals. It is widely used for low-grade ore and complex ore processing, such as low-grade Copper oxide ores and Copper tailings, Nickel-Cobalt separation, and precious metal refining and purification. The multi-stage mixer-settler extraction tank/cell is the most widely used equipment in solvent extraction due to its simple structure, high equipment efficiency, stable operation, and convenient handling of interface flocculants. Metalcess specializes in providing customized, high-extraction-efficiency, stable-operation and low-production-cost solvent extraction solutions and high-efficiency extraction equipment for the metallurgical field. From laboratory-scale tests, pilot plant to industrial production, our technical team will offer you full-process technical support to ensure the best matched solvent extraction technological process and equipment, creating higher economic benefits for your plant.

Copper SX-EW: used in the Copper solvent exraction and electrowinning plant to process low-grade copper oxide ores and tailings (such as solutions after acid leaching). One typical application is Copper oxide ore (Cu: 0.5%)-heap leaching-SX-EW process. The final product is A-grade cathode copper (Cu ≥ 99.96%).
Cobalt and Nickel: Due to the frequent coexistence of cobalt and nickel and their similar chemical properties, their separation is challenging. By using extractants, cobalt or nickel can be selectively extracted from each other, thereby achieving efficient separation and purification, and produing battery grade nickle and colbat product.
Vanadium: Recovery and purification of vanadium from vanadium-bearing ores, oil shale, or spent catalytic converters for the steel and chemical industries.
Precious Metals: Including Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, etc. Precious metals are of high value and require extremely high recovery rates and purity. After Gold is recovered by the traditional cyanidation method, solvent extraction is sometimes used for refining. The separation of Platinum group metals is particularly complex, and solvent extraction is one of the important method.
Zinc: In the processing of complex Zinc ores or secondary resources, it is used to remove impurities (such as Copper, Cadmium, Cobalt, Nickel), purify the electrolyte, and ensure the quality of electrolytic zinc. In the traditional roasting-leaching-electrowinning process, adding a solvent extraction step can effectively purify the solution.

Tank Body: The main structure of the equipment, typically made of corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, PVC, FRP, PP, PVDF, etc., to ensure resistance to the corrosion of process media.
Agitation System: Comprising a explosion-proof motor, agitation shaft, and impeller (turbine type, paddle type, etc.). Its function is to provide sufficient shear force to disperse one phase of liquid into fine droplets and evenly distribute them in the other continuous phase, significantly increasing the mass transfer area.
Mixing Chamber: The area where agitation and mixing occur.
Settling Chamber: A static area connected to the mixing chamber, usually equipped with baffles or weirs to facilitate the smooth separation of the two phases and prevent short-circuiting.
Phase Ports (Weirs): Used to control the interface position and flow rate of the two phases, ensuring that the separated light phase and heavy phase can flow out separately and orderly.
Light Phase Outlet: Located at the upper part of the settling chamber, used to discharge the less dense organic phase.
Heavy Phase Outlet: Located at the lower part of the settling chamber, used to discharge the denser aqueous phase.

High-efficiency Mass Transfer: The optimized stirring design ensures efficient mixing and mass transfer.
High Operational Flexibility: It can be flexibly combined in multiple stages according to processing volume and process requirements.
Excellent Separation Effect: The spacious clarification chamber design guarantees thorough phase separation.
Strong Corrosion Resistance: Multiple materials can be selected to adapt to various harsh chemical environments.
High Degree of Automation: Automatic control of flow rate, interface, and stirring speed can be achieved, making operation simple and reliable.
