Electrolytic cell (electrolysis cell) for ER and EW

Polymer concrete electrolytic cells are high-performance tank equipment specially designed for electrolysis and electrowinning, with polymer concrete as the main structural material, which are widely used in Copper electrolysis and electrowinning, Zinc electrolysis and electrowinning, Manganese electrolysis, Cobalt electrowinning, Nickel electro-refining and electrowinning. The polymer concrete electrolytic cells provided by Metalcess have excellent corrosion resistance, extremely high mechanical strength and a service life of over 20 years.

Polymer Concrete Electrolytic Cell Overview

Characteristics of the Polymer Concrete Electrolytic Cell

Excellent corrosion resistance: It can withstand a wide range of acid, alkali, salt solutions and organic solvents. It has outstanding stability against almost all electrolytes (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, brine, etc.) and poses no risk of rusting.

Outstanding mechanical strength and stability: It has extremely high compressive and flexural strength, a solid structure that can withstand heavy loads and the installation stress of large cathode and anode plates, and is not prone to deformation. It has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and good thermal stability, which can adapt to changes in working temperature and avoid cracking or leakage caused by thermal expansion and contraction.

Super long service life: Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and anti-aging properties, the designed service life of polymer concrete electrolytic cells is usually over 20 years, far exceeding that of plastic tanks (such as PP, PVC) and rubber-lined equipment, significantly reducing replacement costs and downtime.

Integral forming, no leakage risk: It has good integrity and no seams. This avoids the leakage problems caused by welds or damaged linings in traditional tanks, ensuring safety and environmental protection.

Excellent insulation performance: Resin polymer concrete itself is a good insulating material, which helps reduce current leakage and improve the current efficiency of the electrolysis process, saving energy and reducing consumption.

Low maintenance cost: The surface is smooth and dense, not prone to scaling, and dirt does not easily adhere, making cleaning simple. It requires little maintenance throughout its service life, offering high comprehensive economic benefits.
